Misc. Notes
Paris Kentuckian Citizen, Wednesday, July 19, 1922:
Beloved Woman Claimed By Death. Mrs. John J. Redmon Dies After Long Illness. Was Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Collins. Funeral And Burial Monday.--Mrs. Lou Collins Redmon, aged 58 years, died at the family home near North Middletown, Sunday afternoon at one o'clock, following a long illness covering a period of several years. For some time it had been know that her condition was serious and every means known to medical science was used in the hope of restoring her to health, but to no avail. With a full knowledge of her condition, she awaited patiently the final summons which came Sunday afternoon, and with the same Christian fortitude which had governed her life of usefulness and service, she passed into the presence of the Master with the assurance that her life work had not been in vain. A kind friend and neighbor, at all times giving of her time, her talent and her means, she will continue to live in the lives of those who came under her gentle influence. But most of all will she be missed in the home, where as wife and mother, she exerted her greatest influence, making for her family and friends a home life which was wholesome at all times. The grace of hospitality was indeed hers and her legion of friends counted it a privilege to be in her home. Mrs. Redmon was the wife of former Tax Commissioner John J. Redmon, of near North Middletown, who survives with three children: Dr. Lee Collins Redmon, of Lexington, Mr. Hiram S. Redmon, Superintendent of the Bourbon County Roads, of this city, and Mr. William Redmon, of North Middletown. She was also a sister of Mrs. William S. Jones, of North Middletown, and of the late Mr. John T. Collins, of Paris, and North Middletown.

The funeral was held at the family residence, near North Middletown, Monday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock, by Rev. F.M. Tinder, pastor of the North Middletown Christian church of which she was a devoted member, assisted by Rev. W.E. Ellis of the Paris church and the body was interred in the family lot in the North Middletown cemetery. The following friends served as pall bearers: John W. Jones, Robert G. Jones, William Collins, Theodore Barnett, W.S. Meng, S.S. Dickson, E.K. Thomas, Jr., and Thomas Helm Minary.
